introduction

With a proven track record in aesthetic plated products for use on façades, METRAL has been producing a range of external shading devices to meet architectural needs since 1987.

Following the new requirements imposed by the energy-saving regulation (RT2000), the shading device has emerged as the ideal solution for reducing the climatic load of summer, without affecting the benefits of the sun in winter.

More than an architectural element, the external shading device has become an important means of maintaining a comfortable temperature in summer. Unlike indoor shutters, external shading devices reflect direct solar radiation. Infrared radiation does not get trapped inside the building (the greenhouse effect), and the resulting increase in temperature is counteracted.

In addition, by stopping direct solar radiation in the walls of the building, external shading devices block the light, providing diffused and indirect light to the building interior. Thanks to the design, an aerofoil wing ensures optimum comfort and prevents flat or tilted light from dazzling occupants.

To better meet the growing needs of our customers and develop custom technical solutions, the group has created a specialised centre for solar protection, alongside METRAL’s traditional activity: SOLARYS SYSTEME.
